Iran beat arch-rivals Iraq 1-0 to secure a place in the World Cup. Iran has become the first Asian country to secure a place in the 2022 World Cup. Medhi Taremi's lone goal was enough for Iran to win. Taremi scored the decisive goal for Iran in the 48th minute. Iran are top of Group A with 19 points from seven games.
